Cartoonist RK Laxman critical, suffered multiple organ failure Pune: Eminent cartoonist RK Laxman, who created The Common Man, has suffered multiple organ failure and his condition was critical late on Sunday, family sources said. The 95-year-old Laxman, a current employee of The Times Of India, was admitted to a private nursing home here on Friday due to some kidney and chest-related issues. Saturday, he was in ICU and this (Sunday) morning miraculously bounced back. Again his condition is a cause for concern, a family member, who did not want to be identified, told IANS. A Magsaysay laureate, Laxmans cartoons have regaled generations since 1950s till a few years ago when he stopped drawing due to ill health.
