Case 2: PharmD student and her preceptor LA is an 89-year-old woman who presented to the emergency department with left leg pain, swelling, and erythema that has been progressively worsening for four days. She describes experiencing a fever and chills, no diaphoresis, and a “pinching” pain in the left thigh/leg. She also reports decreased oral intake; however, she has no complaints of shortness of breath, chest pain, and pain elsewhere. She felt so unwell in the morning that she called her grandchildren and asked to be brought into the hospital. She has had no recent travel, but she reports frequent UTI episodes. She presented as hypotensive in the emergency department and with evidence of SIRS. She was responsive to fluids. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Hits56 Radio _______ FB: r-js/1rlggeQ / TW: r-js/1us3SdS / Listen to LIPSapp Hits56 Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan
