Case of the week from my clinic A mother of 7 months old female infant came to my clinic for cough and fever and also consultation about her baby weight and progress The baby was in a thick cover and I was shocked when I saw a deblitated marasmus like infant with distended abdomen and no sc fats and deep seated eyes and no or faint eye brows with mild head support, no signs of interest and loss of any fine motor and social development except of smile on maximum efforts On examination of abdomen , no hepatomegally or splenomegally or ascitis The infant is on high caloric formula with proper preparation and proper number of feeds per day I gave her a course of ab and antipyretics preparing to order investigations as soon as she become better I suggest to order LFTs RBS, ammonia, cbc, urine Any suggestions
