Cast me not away from thy presence ; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation ; and uphold me with thy free spirit . Then will I teach transgressors thy ways ; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. (Psalms 51:11-13) The saint who has gone cold, backslid or just sinned, feels the sting of broken fellowship with God. The feeling of isolation is heightened and we are only a breath away from restored fellowship. As we repent, we begin to feel the fellowship restored, the Spirit freed to lead and our conscious bolstered. The Holy Spirit is always interceding for us and pleading for us, even as we are unable (or even unwilling) to pray. Interesting that the final verse in our text says we will become soul winners as we become restored. The closer in fellowship to The Lord, the more our lives become lights.
