Catalyst God through the mistakes So, after standing in front - TopicsExpress

Catalyst God through the mistakes So, after standing in front of a large, disinterested and abusive crowd, Paul was shoved back again into the barracks for the third time in a row; taken by force to shield him from the horrors the Sanhedrin had in mind for him. Have you ever felt like things were going great, and then after just one mistake you just screwed everything up? Paul had just undergone this very thing. Paul was able to speak in front of his own peers. They were all of the same race, culture, intelligence and upbringing. He was set up in front of the whole crowd, ready to speak to them, to show them the gospel of Christ. Unfortunately it didnt work. Instead he accidentally touched on a sensitive topic that sparked a feud in between the members of the crowd and forced their hearts to grow cold towards his message. Paul blew it. Sitting in the barrack, he was struck with the mindset of thinking he was a failure. We know this because it took Jesus himself to speak to him and tell him to take courage!... so you may testify in Rome (Acts23:11) for him to realise that he still had a future. What happened next blew Pauls mind. He was escorted to Rome, in the middle of army protection, and safeguarded from the enemy. He was shielded and valued, respected and prioritised. Although he screwed up, he was able to attain a new mission, he was able to receive a new calling, and experience a new kind of blessing. But only if he took courage in God. So, no matter what happened to us and the mistakes that haunt us, lets learn to listen to Gods voice and hear his word that speaks out a new second chance for us. Let us receive his calling by taking courage in Jesus. Lets forget what has passed and push unto the new life Gods called us to live in. Acts 23:11 (NIV) The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.
