The first President of the United States was known for being loyal to his country and honest. His character was barely flawed. The first leader of this great nation first served in the Army, where he learned many more of his core values that molded him into the ideal role model for the nation’s youth. Importance of Honesty George Washington believed in being brutally honest. This is something that the youth of today take for granted. The ability to own responsibility to wrong doings seems to have gone to the wayside. It is not being taught enough at home just how important honesty really is. In this book, blunt displays of honesty are strewn throughout the content. The examples set by President Washington as far as how we should act and how we should treat others, are there to aid the children of today in realizing how important honesty really is. Importance of Teaching Manners to Youth Several generations ago, it was important to have good manners. This included treating authority figures with respect, respecting your parents, behaving in school and treating others, as you would want them to treat you. Equality in humanity is another thing that is lacking among today’s generations. President Washington was a prime example of a humble human being that could still lead troops and the nation with integrity. There has yet to be another man like him walk this earth. The values that he set as standards for the citizens of the Unite States have diminished, and dwindled out of sight. It seems that manners have slipped away from most generations, not just younger generations. We lead by example. Is it necessary to have to go back hundreds of years to find the prime example? Perhaps just a simple reminder, as supplied in this book, will help reconstitute what George Washington worked effortlessly to portray. This was what he thought was right and how he was taught. It came naturally to him, as it should to others. Why George Washington as the Subject Out of all of the upstanding citizens in the country, digging back that far in time to remind people of how this country really took off is what was needed. The examples of how to live life through honesty, integrity and proper etiquette were displayed completely by one man. Rules of Manners Similar to the 10 Commandments and Bill of Rights, there are rules of manners. The phrasing used during Washington’s time was old world English. Language has modernized since then and today’s youth would not understand what the wording meant. To make these rules easier to understand and comprehend, notes are placed by those with difficult translations to help readers understand. It helps to make the book easier to read and more readers can engage in taking in the careful thought processes and subtle hints regarding honesty and manners without getting bored. Teachers are encouraged to assign this eBook to students as an assignment. The topic could be anything from taking life for granted to bullying. There are dozens of valuable lessons to be learned from this compilation of observations and rekindling of facts. President Washington served as a prime example of integrity, valor and humanity. The people of today’s generations have become greedy, rude, always in a rush and inconsiderate of others.
