A woman haring Jesus wisdom and seeing His works gives vent to her joy praising the mother of Jesus. To the woman, however, Jesus proposes another quality of ‘blessedness’, one deriving not so much from physical relationship as resulting from hearing and doing the ‘Word’. With the latter proposal, however, the blessedness of the former is not cancelled out rather only enhanced in its value.
