Caustic comedienne Joan Rivers was on life support Saturday as family members stood vigil at a Manhattan hospital. The 81-year-old Rivers, who was initially placed in a medically-induced coma after collapsing Thursday, was now attached to machines that are keeping her alive, according to TMZ. Sources told the web site that daughter Melissa was hopeful that her mother could still bounce back after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest. No decision on Rivers’ future will be made for a few days, TMZ said. Neither Melissa Rivers nor the hospital had any comment Saturday on the Emmy-winning Rivers’ condition. Sources had told the Daily News that Rivers would not want to live unless she could enjoy “a full and active life ... (she) would never want to be a burden on anyone.” lmcshane@nydailynews Promoted Stories Oops, Kelly Rowland Makes The Privacy Mistake Many Pregnant… Fit Pregnancy Often Overlooked Method to Pay Off Mortgage LendingTree 10 Most Cringe-Worthy Wedding Disasters Minq 11 Rappers With No Street Cred Suggest 15 best Sunday Dinner Recipes collection Foodie Shocking Confessional In The Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial ViewMixed Recommended by More Articles Mark Wahlberg to miss brother Donnie’s wedding Donnie Walhberg and Jenny McCarthy are tying the knot — but one A-lister won’t be attending.
