Caylee Update: We have just gotten home from Caylees post op appointment. We got some good news and some not so good news. The Dr. said the incision looks good and she is progressing nicely for having had major surgery. She told Caylee that she couldnt compare her surgery to having had a C section because she had actually had part of her body removed. So there was more that had to heal. She told her to take it easy but she could gradually do more as she felt like it and should be back to normal activity in 6 weeks. The pathology report showed that the fluid that filled the mass had nothing abnormal in it. The golf ball sized mass was pre cancer cells. She told us that this wasnt a typical cyst and unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to prevent it from happening again on the other ovary. Caylee is in quite a bit of pain from the poking and prodding and having to sit up for so long at the office and on the ride to and from. Shes also pretty upset and scared from all of the information that we were given which is to be expected. We just have to keep a very close eye on everything and she will have to have frequent check ups to monitor the other ovary. Please continue to keep Caylee in your prayers. She has a very long and uncertain road ahead of her but we are praying for the best. Thank you!
