Celebrating National #VolunteersWeek day 4. Today, we are featuring Vincent Mirams and Tom Baldwin from The Dreamland Margate Visitor Centre. Vincent and Tom met whilst volunteering for the gaming expo GEEK. They love being part of the Dreamland team, helping to get the message across that the ball is rolling and the reopening of Dreamland is no longer just a dream. Vincent: There are tons of opportunities for the next generation here. Most 15 year olds have never heard of Margate, but theres so much scope to what can happen here, especially with the gaming connection- its not just about sitting at home with your console. We can do this if everyone pulls together...and that excites me! Tom: Ive got a kid myself and Im looking forward to him coming here. Older people come in and tell us stories...they remember all the good times they had when they were children, and that is really heartwarming. Our generation need to hear these stories.
