Celebrating my 50th birthday this weekend with my old friend the North Fork of the Payette river in Idaho. My first run on this legendary river was 25 years ago and I’m humbled and happy that today it still holds my attention as if it were my first time. That’s quite a relationship for me ;) To further commemorate successfully accumulating 50 years on planet Earth, this coming August I’m embarking on a 3000-mile expedition to travel the length of the Himalayas - another old friend of mine. My route will take me across India, Nepal and into the Kingdom of Bhutan and my mode of transport will be a Royal Enfield classic Indian motorbike. En route I’ll be taking on a few mountain and river adventures while documenting some of the changes I’ve witnessed in my beloved second home since I first started living and guiding there 32 years ago. I’ll also be sharing stories about some of the unsung, amazing local heroes who are working tirelessly to make a difference there. I hope you come along for the ride.
