Celtics waiting to make final cuts: The Boston Celtics currently have 18 players on their roster and they are planning to hold off on setting the regular season squad until the end of the week. “We’re not going to make any cuts until after our exhibition season’s over,” head coach Brad Stevens tells the Boston Herald. “Then we’ll go from there. I’ll sit down with Mike (Zarren, assistant GM) and Danny (Ainge), and we’ll figure that out. Of the 18 players, 14 have full salary protection for the season and the Celtics will probably just go with that group as a way to stay under the luxury tax. By going with the 14 the Celtics are $134,098 under the threshold. The four players who are likely to be waived include Chris Babb, Damen Bell-Holter, DeShawn Sims and Kammron Taylor and three of them will be designated to their D-League team in Maine. -AB0
