FRIDAY ON MY MIND Friday September 5: Sweet Screen Symphonies with Cezary Skubiszewski Cezary Skubiszewski is one of Australias leading film composers whose work encompasses both film, television, TVCs and stage, for which he has claimed numerous awards. From his first score on Lilliams Story in 1996 to Two Hands, Bran Nue Dae, Red Dog, The Sapphires, and more recently The Broken Shore, Cezary has composed hundreds hours of scores for the screen and in between has created the music for TVS that include Bertolucci, the 2000 Olympic Games, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the worldwide smash the VB Bottle Symphony in 2007 as well as two stints as the Musical Director of APRA/AGSC Screen Music Awards In 2008 and 2011. In 2003 Cezary received the Centenary Medal for Service to Australian Society and Australian Film Production and a Film Circle of Australia (FCCA) Award in recognition of contribution to Australian Cinema in 2010 Cezary has said, I still think that Im on a journey to discover more about myself, about what I can come up with and with every job, you feel like you are always challenging yourself. Cezary will share his thoughts on his career as a screen composer with host Margot McDonald as well as his most recent experience working on the score for Gillian Armstrongs Women Hes Undressed.
