Chad Moody, a self-described drug lawyer running for governor, was overheard saying terrorists “need to blow up more things in this country,” police reported after his June 2008 arrest at the Oklahoma City airport. He was charged in Oklahoma City municipal court with public drunkenness but was acquitted, and when contacted yesterday he denied making comments praising terrorism. Moody faces Gov. Mary Fallin and another Republican, Dax Ewbank, in the primary election Tuesday. His long-shot campaign has attracted state and national attention — somewhat because of his catchy slogan: “Vote God, Grass & Guns.” Moody wants Oklahoma to legalize marijuana and he said he began running for public office as sort of a joke and as a way to push that cause.
