Chadwick Boseman to Star in James Brown Biopic GET ON UP Chadwick Boseman first emerged on the Hollywood scene to portray Baseball legend Jackie Robinson in "42", opposite screen legend Harrison Ford. Not a bad gig for a newcomer. His next project is going to be a bit more high-octane, as he is set to portray musical icon James Brown in an upcoming biopic. An aptly named title "Get On Up", was just assigned to the picture. A release date has also been assigned and it will hit AMC Theatres on October 17, 2014. Tate Taylor is at the helm, who last earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for "The Help". The film was very powerful and well-done, and starred Emma Stone, Octavio Spencer and Jessica Chastain. Tate seems like a very interesting and solid choice to bring this film to fruition.
