Chad’s Elect Sport, URA for Cecafa Club Championship Elect Sport of Chad, Uganda Revenue Authority FC and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport will take part in the 2013 Cecafa Kagame Club Championships which starts in Sudan next week. The Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) has said the three teams have replaced those that pulled out citing security fears. The 2013 Cecafa Kagame Club Championship will take place in the Sudan sates of Darfur and South Kordofan June 18 to July 2. Kenyan champions Tusker FC and two Tanzanian sides, Simba and Young Africans, indicated last week that they had pulled out because of security concerns in the states that will host the tournament. The Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye told the Media this yesterday that they have invited other teams because though they tried to convince the three teams that pulled out that security in Sudan was fine, they still refused. “This is a very big tournament which helps to improve talent with in our region and we shall go ahead and have it with good security guaranteed,” said Musonye. He said some changes are going to be made in the groupings when the Cecafa members and hosts Sudan Football Federation meet in Khartoum this weekend. Young Africans will have no chance to defend their trophy. The championship, which is partly sponsored by the Rwanda President Paul Kagame, will now feature: Al Ahly Shandi (Sudan), Al Nasir (South Sudan), Al-Hilal Kadugli (Sudan), Express FC (Uganda), URA FC (Uganda), Ports FC (Djibouti), Vital’O (Burundi), Merriekh El Fasher (Sudan), APR (Rwanda), Elman (Somalia), Rayon Sport (Rwanda) and Elect Sport (Chad).
