Chaile Stages One Man Protest at State House The now eerie atmosphere around State House had a bit of action on Monday when former University of Zambia Students Union president Vincent Chaile staged a one man protest against the low number of students who were given bursaries by government. Chaile, who attempted to deliver a protest letter to President Michael Sata, was met by uncompromising police officers who cantered him to Woodlands Police station where he was questioned before being released. He said he had been persuaded to take the lone protest because only 2600 out of 6000 students admitted had been offered bursaries. Chaile said it was very clear that education was slowly becoming a preserve of the elite. He was sporting a screaming banner scribbled with words “Education is now for the rich” and also wore his graduation gown. zambiareports/2014/09/30/chaile-stages-one-man-protest-state-house/
