Chamber News Feed: Hunterdon County, NJ: (CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ) A tentative agreement over whether the owners of Valley Crest Farm and Preserve can host weddings on-site has been reached. On Thursday, members of the Clinton Township council, neighbors and the owners of Valley Crest Farm met in a mediation session to resolve the issue of noise from weddings that the farm hosts. Under the agreement reached, the farm will attempt to limit the volume on musical performances and DJs at weddings held this year. It will also post on its website the dates and times of planned weddings. According to the agreement, the farm will advise its clients booking weddings next year that the musical performances and DJs will be limited to indoors, which is subject to trustee approval. For weddings that have already been booked next year, the farm agreed to ask those clients to move musical performances and DJs indoors. Further, the residents at 28 Allerton Road will attempt to limit noise from the property during wedding ceremonies. The agreement is tentative as it is subject to the approval of the township mayor, township council and Valley Crest Farm trustees. The agreement also doesnt resolve any future issues concerning zoning ordinances, deeds of easement or issues resulting from any application before the County Agricultural Development Board. Township Administrator Marvin Joss said he was glad the two sides were able to talk about the issue. Landowner Bob LeCompte would not comment on the agreement reached.
