Chamber News… Happy Monday! For those who have been complaining about the cool weather have no complaints now. Summer is here too bad it came so close to fall. Labor Day next Monday and on Tuesday school is in session so take extra caution and plan your time accordingly when around the school areas. Also, there will be a lot of new faces in town as M-State welcomes students to our community. Chili Cook-Off is September 19, 3:00-6:00pm downtown. Watch for details in next Tuesday’s Chamber Chat. Friday, September 20: England Prairie fall supper. England Prairie is located at 14229 County Road 1 south and east of Wadena. Monday – Friday, September 23 – 27: Homecoming Week. The coronation will be at 10:30am with parade at 2:00pm and the football game at 7:30pm. Flyers Attached: Princess Warrior Event 5k brochure Notes from members… Davis Family Nursing Scholarship Application Deadline, Oct. 1; $10,000 still available in 2013 Wadena, Students pursuing a career in nursing may apply for a Davis Family Nursing Scholarship administered by the Tri-County Health Care Foundation. The deadline for submitting an application is October 1, 2013. A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be distributed to deserving students. Nursing students can apply for one of four $2,500 scholarships to assist them in an accredited Nursing program. Recipients are chosen using a blind selection process from the eligibility criteria established. The applicant should have residential ties to the Tri-County Health Care service area in Ottertail, Todd and Wadena counties. The family of Gary and Benda Davis, of Wadena, and the Tri-County Health Care Governing Board established the Davis Family Nursing Scholarship in 2010 to give back to the community, inspire others to pay it forward and encourage qualified individuals to pursue a health care career in nursing. The Tri-County Health Care Foundation is a private charity established in 1994 to attract and administer charitable funds for the benefit of the communities and surrounding areas served by Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.
