Chandigarh Police busted a gang of two wheeler lifter : 05 Motercycles and 01 activa Honda recovered 02 arrested Chandigarh, Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arresting 02 two-wheeler lifters. On 05.08.2013, on acting upon a secret information, a team of the Crime Branch manned a trap near Nirman Cinema, Sector-32, Chandigarh, and apprehended accused namely Raju Khatri @ Mahi, age 24 years, s/o Sh. Veeru Khatri r/o H.No. 855, near High School, Village Hallomajra, Chandigarh. During the course of interrogation, he disclosed the name of his other accomplice Satnam Singh s/o Harbans Singh r/o # 74, Village Behlana, UT, Chandigarh who was already lodged in Model Jail, Chandigarh in case FIR No.77 dated 06.03.2012 u/s 380/511 IPC, PS-31, Chandigarh. Upon this, accused Satnam Singh was also taken on production warrant from Model Jail, Chandigarh on 06.08.2013. During interrogation, it has been revealed that accused used to steal motorcycles from different places in the city by breaking the handle locks and further connecting the ignition wires of the vehicle directly. Accused Raju Khatri @ Mahi is a habitual criminal. Prior to this, he was arrested in 02 cases of vehicle theft registered with the different police stations of Chandigarh.
