Change of Gear to Improve services: Garissa County Governor, Nathif Jama Adam had a busy week of face-to-face contact with both members of his cabinet and some public on how to improve service delivery. After Jamhuri Day celebrations, Governor Nathif embarked on fact finding mission, meeting his executive, MPs, MCAs, youths and women groups, religious and opinion leaders on the way forward to prosper development of the county. He asked the community to support and engage his administration to all matters concerning Developments and security. He urged leaders from all political divide and youth to unite and stand together to achieve a common goal of taking Garissa to the next level for the betterment of common wananchi. The governor pleads to all legislators, religious leaders, youths and elders from the community to support and engage his administration to all matters concerning Developments and security. While speaking after officiating several consultative meetings with leaders, youths religious groups and County Executives members on issues pertaining service delivery The Governor retaliated his total commitment towards service delivery and mutual cooperation with all stakeholders. The head of the county urged development cannot be realized without having synergy with leaders at the grassroots level, reaffirming his Earlier statements on his commitment to work with all Members of county Assembly in Garissa saying that, he has all it takes to dialogue and accept any idea that seems to improve the living standards of the Residents of Garissa county. “I would like to see, My fellow countrymen, leaders and the residents to be proud to be associated with the government and deliver services in line with the set goals and manifesto of my administration, so many developments projects both ongoing and others completed have been commissioned in the past financial years, and we need to have supporting gestures within ourselves to reach our target as a county” Nathif said. He said staff key performance indicators will be done at the end of year with the Deputy Governor, Abdullahi Hussein tasked to coordinate government business in all the county departments. He said he would like to see enhanced revenue generation with a target of Sh 500 million expected to be raised within the this financial year, Recently after The county Generated Shs 50 million revenue collection during the month of October in a statement raised by Chief officer for Revenue, Mr. Abdullhi Omar who also revealed the same. The revealing that about Sh 1 billion can rose if the staff pulls up their socks. He challenged departments to raise monies as they provide prudent services delivery “The problems Garissa faces will not wait for these people to come around. And neither will us. So I have a special appeal to the senior political and administrative leaders. Help us deliver the change for there is much we can still do. And if you cannot, then it is time to make way for those who can.” added Nathif Meanwhile, The Governor, appealed to all residents to be vigilant and preach peace and mutual coexistence as the country ushers.
