Chapter 22 Too much to take in Confusion filled the room. After everything his done for us even though we were not his kids,he took us in, he gave us the best of everything. I cannot say I have a comprehensive comprehension of all of this but, for a man that lost his job, a man raising other mens children three at that ... dont be to quick to judge him, this is a man oppressed by the society and my mother. this is a man that longed to have an heir but got disappointed along the way. Forgive him for breaking down but his nor God, he couldnt take it all in and be alright. he was a man let down by his wife and employer now that cant be easy. how does pick up the pieces? where does he go from here? Meanwhile mum was having cravings and this time she went all urban with it, its a pity because times have changed, theres no money to flaunt. times of going to private doctors for check up have come to an end as she welcomed the long queue from our local government clinics. life has really turned to the complete opposition of what it used to be. My dad couldnt take it anymore, the thought of another new born which is an added responsibility on his watch was really making him go insane. so he decided to leave us his home and go to his parents home. Soon after he left, things were getting worse but my mother managed to put food on the table. My dad became ill and my mother would occasionally go and visit him. He suffered from kidney failure, it was so sad we couldnt even go visit him. we missed him. he never went to the hospital though, he was very sceptic about them. he was being nursed by his mother and this made the family hate my mother since she was married to him. Months passed and mum was due, she was rushed to the hospital after complaining about abdominal pains. she went to labour for two days, doctors even advised her to do a c-section which she was so reluctant, at first mind you all three of us were of normal birth so she didnt want to give in until there were further complications which resulted to an immediate operation. Chances were either one of them was not going to make it,if she insisted with taking the normal birth process, however they still had slim chances even after the c-Section. my aunts we around, Aunt Happiness stayed with us at home while aunt Precious was supporting her sister in hospital. She made it and the baby, my brother Mpilenhle mum just wished her baby a great life after all the pains, tears and suffering she just hoped for a good life. He was so tiny, but tall he was just scary shame for me. he was in life support for two weeks then they both came home. mum was not perfectly well though so my aunts had to nurse her, from bathing and her and Mpilenhle. Just then she received call from her Inlaws. My brother was not known by his family, nor did they come to see him. my dad was not sure if the baby was his so he basically denied the pregnancy. Out of everyone from the family only my aunt from my dads side kept contact, he even saw Mpilenhle once and she knew he was a Shongwe, my dad has finally received an heir! it was a normal day, when mum just fell on her way from the bathroom, her spirit was down suddenly and she knew she was going to hear bad news. She received a call from the Inlaws my aunt to be precise informingher that my dad her husband has passed away! :( without even seeing his heir... Diary ka Thandoluhle
