Chardonnay or white Burgundy? New World Chardonnays are ripe, full body wines, sometimes buttery with oaky finishes. White Burgundy is also Chardonnay and can be lighter and more crisp in flavor. Choose a New World Chardonnay with salmon for instance. A lighter, crisper white Burgundy with a little lighter fish, like Arctic Char. Either way, New World or Burgundy, they are both Chardonnay. Try Cave de Lugny (cahv duh loon yee) for a great example of White Burgundy. Never let the name scare you from a great wine!
