Charlotte Business - BB&Ts net income rises in Q3 - BB&T Corp. (NYSE:BBT) on Thursday posted net income available to its shareholders of $520 million, or 71 cents per diluted share, up from $268 million, or 37 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. In a news release on its results, BB&T notes its earnings in the prior years quarter were reduced by tax-related reserve adjustments that totaled $235 million, or 33 cents per diluted share.
