Charlotteville Fisherman Festival As you ascend the mountaintop - TopicsExpress

Charlotteville Fisherman Festival As you ascend the mountaintop a post card worthy sight awaits. Nestled along the crescent shaped bay, lush tropical greenness and providing the perfect backdrop, is the small fishing village of Charlotteville. During the last week of June, from the 27th- 29th, this sleepy hamlet transforms itself into its livelier alter ego in the form of the annual Fisherman Festival. The Fisherman Festival originated as part of the religious St Peter’s Day observance. St Peter is the patron saint of fisher-folk, and so the festival naturally evolved. The fun filled weekend kicks off with a Friday evening barbeque, from 6pm to 9pm, followed by a street party where you can ‘boogie down’ until the sun comes up! The pace picks up again on Saturday around 10am with a 20/20 cricket game and various field sports held at the Recreation Grounds. You can register in advance or on the day itself, to participate in tug-o-wars, greasy pole races, egg and spoon races, among many more. Later in the evening party hard under the stars at the Tennis Court with music by popular 96.1 deeejay, Trevlyn D’Voice, The Hitman Howie T and many more.So whether you’re vacationing from abroad or on stay-cation, this year’s Charlotteville Fisherman Festival is clearly one that you won’t want to miss!
