MAN GETS FIVE YEARS IN JAIL FOR BITING DAD’S FINGER A man who bit and wounded his father’s finger has been sentenced to five years in jail by a Kericho court. Gideon Kipkoech Maritim, 23, was charged before acting chief magistrate Samuel Soita with assaulting his father Paul Matingwony on the midnight of July 18 in Keben village in Kericho. Matingwony told the court he was asleep in his house when Maritim arrived shouting and throwing stones at the roof. He said Maritim chased him around the house and bit his finger when he went to ask him why he was disturbing his sleep. The accused has been serving a non-custodial sentence for assaulting his mother last year.
