Chaturthi Special You are Here : Step # 1 Step # 2 Step # 3 Step # 4 Step # 4 The Answer behind the Clues Find the answer on the fateful day of 11th September 2013 All these days we questioned our unquestioning acceptance of suffering, asked what is the biggest obstacle on our path to success and focused on the problem of blindly following rituals. Why did we raise those questions? Disillusionment is the first step to enlightenment. To be able to see the truth, we first need to remove the layer of illusions from our eyes. Were we, then trying to say that it is wrong to hope and pray? Were we saying that hope in God himself is wrong? Were we condemning all rituals and all festivals and all the expressions of positivity all together? NO. And this is exactly what I want to address today. It is easy to follow old traditions; a little less easy to question them but what is the most difficult and important is to understand them. Do we really truly understand the meaning behind these traditions and rituals? The meaning which is much richer and deeper than the act itself! What fragrance is to flowers, ritual is to devotion. What a book is to thought, ritual is to divinity. What sweets are to food, ritual is to spirituality. But is the fragrance the flower itself? Is the book the thought itself? Are ‘sweets’ food that one can live on? No they are not. A ritual or a festival is an opportunity to celebrate an idea, a ritual is performed as a way to inculcate and practice that idea. When we only follow the ritual and not understand the idea behind it: We fail miserably and end up with fake/hollow/temporary satisfaction and complacency that does not help improve our life in any way. We attribute the power to bring a change to our lives to someone else, something outside our control We start depending and waiting for things to happen to us instead of doing them ourselves Our efforts, emotions and resources go waste as we put them into the wrong channel which brings out no results. You need to realize your life is not a movie, your struggles are not a joke, your pains are not to be taken lightly. Your soul demands more respect and attention. However, it is not wrong to believe, keep faith and keep your life colored with hope. And it is to see that very hope bring about the realization of our dreams that we must wake up, shake off the weight of the past and take on life in a new way! Your financial worries that you cannot handle, your secret disappointments that no one sees, your unexpressed sadness of being lonely, your personal burdens that no one shares- THEY ARE YOURS and the only one who can do anything about it is YOU, and believe me, you DO hold the power to change your life. If you believe in yourself, you can change your life and if you believe that you can change it, you WILL change your life- and that will be the true blessing of the Lord of Wisdom and Success! God kept certain physical circumstances beyond our control, but he gave us human beings a brilliant mind, an intellect and a heart full of faith for a reason. We cannot control the circumstances, but what we can control is our mind, for, believe it or not, perception creates reality...
