Check out Saxas adoption video and please share it!! Lets find this girl her forever home!! Please read up about Cane Corso temperament and behaviour before considering her as an addition to your family. While she has come a long way in her training, she is every bit the guard dog she was bred to be. She is now a 1.5 year old, 100lb dog who is starting her manners education a little late in life, but she is a very smart girl who enjoys learning.! Here is a great link for more information on this breed: bigpawsbigheartsrescue/temperament/ Saxa is happy, goofy girl who loves to play fetch, chew bones, and really enjoys a good belly scratch! She is house/kennel trained and is working on her basic obedience and has come a very long way in a very short time. She is your typical stubborn Mastiff and sometimes doesnt feel like training time but weve found that she really loves her meal times so we use that to overcome her case of dont wannas. She does love to cuddle and be with her people whether that is out in the yard playing ball or inside napping at your feet. Saxa is a wonderful dog who has a ton of potential. Because of Saxas size and breed, adoption of this beautiful girl will have conditions that need to be met. Saxas forever family: 1. Will have no other pets in the home and not looking to add members to the family for awhile. She will need to time to settle into her home and requires work on her reactivity. She also requires slow introductions to new dogs and this is something we feel she would benefit more from not having added to the stress of settling into a new home. 2. Children over the age of 12 years old. Saxa is gentle with children but she does not realize she is a 100lb dog and can easily harm a small child without even realizing it. 3. Will be willing to work with PSDR and a behavioural consultant of our choosing to learn how to properly work with Saxa to keep her training going in the right direction prior to adoption. 4. Will be familiar with working-type guarding breeds. Saxa can be strong-willed dog and will put your patience to the test!! 5. Be 100% committed to seeing this girl reach her potential!!! She has so much love to give and will be completely devoted and loyal to her family, we want her family to deserve that from her.
