Check out our Artist of the Month!! Valerie Daggett I am a self taught, Abstract, Oil Painter. Photography is the staple inspiration for the out of focus backgrounds that I create. Bokeh photography eludes a soft dreamy haze whist at the same time creates luminous orb patterns and shapes. The orb can also be seen as a spiritual token or omen. Every ounce of inspiration has taken its roots from nature. I was born in California, Experienced the islands of the Azores as a kid, moved from place to place, always surrounded by some type of larger body of water. I am a highly adaptive creature who thrives on the metamorphoses of life. You could call my work a transient style with a “go with the flow” perspective. I stretch and Gesso the Larger frames by hand, this method allows me to choose from a variety of frame sizes and depths while continuing the greener choice’s of recycling. I am Promoting a more sustainable art system by reusing art; repurposing an old frame with a new face, Designing art on Nostalgic Vinyl and Clay Records. If you can repurpose an older item, this not only allows the Nostalgia to be preserved in a fresh way but also keeps these items out of the landfill.
