The study tested attentiveness, and both groups performed equally before meditation. After meditation, the experimental group performed significantly better, suggesting that meditation improved user’s executive attention network. In another study, 80 people were randomly assigned to two groups: an experimental and control group. The 40 participants in the experimental group were given integrative body-mint training (IBMT), which is a method of training that can be utilized for novices, or those who have trouble controlling their thoughts. The control group was given relaxation exercises. IBMT focuses on attention and awareness of breathing and body. The study showed that, on the Attention Network Test (ANT), IBMT proved to be more effective, as positive moods and emotions were incited. In the context of this post, this means that focusing on the awareness of the body and breathing can set help focus and increase attention.
