Check out this AMAZING opportunity for 3 students!! The office of Student Involvement is able to pay for the attendance of three students from our campus to attend an Institute on Social Justice! What is the Social Justice Institute? The primary purpose of this institute is to build our collective responsibility to facilitate a living and learning environment for which we all strive, and to develop understanding and respect for each other. The overall intentions are: 1. To deepen the level of authentic dialogue about and across difference. 2. To consider key elements for creating a safe environment for students and staff to engage about and across difference. 3. To explore, examine and engage key concepts and tools for greater effectiveness as a team across difference. 4. To consider how our intersecting identities impact creating a welcoming and inclusive campus environment. 5. Explore how diversity impacts community building. 6. Raise the awareness of power, privilege, and oppression. 7. Explore ways to continue to develop a more inclusive and welcoming campus community through ally-ship.
