Check out this great poem submitted by Taryn Weisheit for our Pizza Poetry Contest! P-I-Z-Z-A by Taryn Weisheit P - I - Z - Z - A Take some dough and make it round. Press it, stretch it, toss it, spin it ‘round. P - I - Z - Z - A Get saucy with it; paint it red. What you are making is more special than bread. P - I - Z - Z - A Throw down the cheese by the handful or two. Some prefer five in a blend but for me only mozzarella will ever do. P - I - Z - Z - A Layer on the toppings; choose your meats first… Ham? Pepperoni? Sausage? Give no thought to pending thirst. P - I - Z - Z - A Veggies come next. Add mushrooms and olives and call it classic. Of course there’s pineapple and spinach if that’s your pick. P - I - Z - Z - A Once youve built a towering pile, bake it in the oven a while. Let the cheese melt and the crust brown against the pan or terracotta tile. P - I - Z - Z - A If you’re having fun, you haven’t seen anything yet… Ready the napkins and paper plates, top off the ice and refill your glass, and let it sweat. P - I - Z - Z - A Ready. Set. Dig in. Whether by slice or by pie, some fold it in two, some cut it into bites with a fork and a knife; either will do. P - I - Z - Z - A Neighbors, friends, and family; the more the merrier. Sharing some time and some pizza makes life a little better. P - I - Z - Z - A Make it at home or give the local Dive a try, Just be sure to have some bread bites and a whole lot of laughter on the side. P - I - Z - Z - A Thanks Taryn!
