Cheers and Happy Holidays--PLEAS SHARE with all your DEADHEAD friends- this one is special!!! (SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL!) Heres my edit of what I am calling one of the best Dead Sets since Jerry passed, the incredible Sunday Set Two from Furthurs Red Rocks ending of a 4 day run. The ultimate in musical improv is this set, as Branford Marsalis strolls onto the stage for Weather Report Suites Let it Grow- (with no rehearsal or set list- just Worlds Best Jazz sax player- as he calls it BLOWIN) and then remained of the set---pushing John Kadleciks guitar and vocals to Garciaesque implosions of tone and vocal impact that would have Gerome Garcia smiling down upon us. John K not only led Branford- he went beyond terra firma to uncharted new waters of the Grateful Dead in unbelievable versions of Eyes of the World & Morning Dew! Bob even flubs the Help intro- but outside of that- this set is DEAD ON! Not to be out done in Jeff Chiminetis stellar Baby Grand piano inflections to Branfords notes & vice versa---and propelled by the 8 arm/legged monster better know as Joe Russo who some how combines is own Jazz stlye blending both Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmans Thundering Train. Bobby and Phil had their moments, but on this day the above 4 took FURTHIR-FARTHER!
