Chelsea are putting together an impressive deal worth £150,000-a-week to try to coax Marco Reus to Stamford Bridge, reports Metro. Citing reports from Spanish newspaper Marca the British tabloid claim that Chelsea are in direct competition with Real Madrid for the Germany international. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and City are all reportedly interested, but trail the aforementioned clubs. Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move, but Jurgen Klopp will likely do everything in his power to stop another star making the switch to the Allianz Arena. FIRST REFUSAL Real Madrid were given first refusal on Reus as part of the deal that saw Nuri Sahin return to Borussia Dortmund. However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to blow the competition out of the water with the £7.8-million-a-year contract. Barcelona were also keen on signing Reus, but their transfer ban is set to rule them out of the race. Meanwhile Arsenal appeared to be frontrunners in the summer, but Reus is concerned that he won’t win the major titles he desires with the Gunners. CASHING IN Borussia Dortmund have been trying to tie Reus down to a new contract and eradicate the release clause that will allow him to leave for as little as £19.7 million at the end of the season. If he doesn’t sign a new deal by January, Dortmund could be tempted to sell him for around £30 million.
