Chelsea contact Manchester United over Wayne Rooney availability Sky Italy reports that the Manchester United striker is a target for Chelsea and Chelsea have made a formal request to ask about the availability of English international, Rooney. Wayne Rooney has already expressed his desire to leave the Manchester club, due to some circumstances such as less playing time and playing out of position under Sir Alex Ferguson. Wayne Rooney has also being targeted by Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG. Sir Alex Ferguson earlier said: “I don’t think Wayne was keen to play, simply because he has asked for a transfer.” which clearly signifies that the English international handed in a transfer request to the club. Rooney has been increasingly frustrated over losing his role to Manchester United’s Dutch striker Robin van Persie and wants a move away from the club.
