Chemotherapy and its nasty side effects are all set to become obsolete. In less than two decades time, treatments will individually fix faulty genes to cure cancer, thanks to a ground- breaking genetic research programme to decode 100,000 human genomes — a patients personal DNA code. Britain has launched one of the worlds most ambitious scientific endeavours — to sequence 100,000 whole genomes in the human body by 2018.
