Cheri is a painter who will be showing her work at our July 6 Orange County Creatives Santa Ana Artists Village showcase (207 N Broadway, Suite D, Santa Ana, CA 92701). Cheri Pedemonte has a degree in Art, Graphics, Design & Color from several art schools. She is always learning and expanding her talents. Owning a graphic art business in Santa Cruz provided a creative outlet for her artistic expression. She expressed her art through advertising with print ads, creating logos for companies, and drawing for clothing lines. She was offered a position to design fabric in Europe at 16; a little too shy, she passed it by. Cheri Travel inspires her; she takes photos in places such as Greece and inland Mexico. She is currently planning a trip to Giverny in the South of France to visit Monet’s home town, see the Lavender fields in bloom, soak up the sun, and take photos to paint from or publish. Her mind is in a constant state of creation, centered with a vision for her future that includes pictures hung in galleries throughout the States and abroad. Her jewelry creations have been sold at boutiques and art shows in Carmel as well as the Bay Area. She markets online as well, currently at Etsy. Ivy Corner Gifts has been her umbrella for both wholesale and retail for over 25 years. Here is what Cheri has to say about beauty and why she paints: I see beauty in everything, from the simplest of things to the complexity of a sunrise. I recently took pictures of a freeway wall covered with a thin ivy plant 25 feet tall. The light and suppleness of the leaves, the one brown leaf in the middle… Nature paints us a picture daily; the eye of an artist sees it, captures it, and reproduces it for others to view. I have been a creative designer for many years, jewelry, painting, photography… if I see beauty in it I use it in my Creations. We all have our own Unique Expressions: Language, Art, Nature…. As you can see, I see beauty everywhere. It comes from within and from knowing who I am. It is ever expanding my limits, expressing itself organically. It comes from being connected to the Source, being in the moment where the magic happens, where “Time Stands Still” where we see who we can be and accept who we are. I paint because I love it, it’s a Passion, a Gift that must be shared
