Cherry Creek Improvements - Pavement and Drainage Improvement Project At the request of the community, Parson’s lead subcontractor, American Civil Constructors applied for and received a variance from Denver’s noise ordinance and now has the ability to perform work at night. The application had a broad level of support from key RNO’s, residential buildings, and business interests as well as the CCN BID. By performing work at night ACC hopes to reduce the overall traffic related impacts associated with the project by shifting some of the work from daytime to nighttime when traffic volumes are substantially less.. The project schedule is being reevaluated with this new approach to determine potential time savings. The night shift will typically operate from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Crews will likely begin night work on Monday night, July 21st and will include work in the 1st Avenue and University Blvd. intersection and the 2nd and Josephine intersection. Night work is scheduled for 3 or 4 nights this week and will continuing through much of the remaining project work schedule. Night work can be more dangerous for everyone involved. Please drive slowly through the Work zones remaining alert for reflective clothing and changing traffic patterns. Based on the proximity of planned night work to the nearest residences and the nature of work our crews will be performing, noise levels are not expected to be extreme. Allowable noise levels will be governed by the conditions of the variance granted. If the noise is intolerable or overly disruptive please contact ACC’s on site project management immediately at 303-730-4563 so we can mitigate the problem.
