Cheryl and the ABC trim couldve saved Secretariat: Kelly Brook Allen Would be very interesting to know what the foot condition was because I bet you money Cheryl Edwards-Henderson could have saved him. Sherry Jackson Too many horses are euthanized when a balanced trim and some healing time could be saved. August 4 at 4:43pm · Like · 3 Heidi Meyer It was laminitis that did it....and judging from the pics the combo of rich grass and a less than optimal trim job after years in shoes....not a surprise Yesterday at 12:32pm · Like · 5 Debbie Watkins Funny you should say this Kelly, because when I watched this video a while back I thought the very same thing and when I look at California Chromes feet I wish Cheryl could get hold of those feet as well! Yesterday at 12:42pm · Like · 1 Debbie Watkins I just saw a post from one of my friends pages that someone just recently put a horse down for pathological foot problems. OMG....Ill bet that horse could have possibly been saved as well. I would have loved to have seen his feet. Really sad that people dont know and dont research before euthanizing. Yesterday at 12:46pm · Like · 2 Cheryl Edwards-Henderson This is why it is so important with this FB group is we can save horses from being put down. When you can save a complicated hoof like Jubilee and others to return to a fun and enjoyable life then the founders that had minor damages like tearing through the soles or detaching the capsules from heel to heel (minor...for repair as long as infection and the bones are not damaged bad) And when horses have much less then a prolapsed sole or detached capsule they are advised to be put down and unrepairable. We need lots of cases to show the counter. But, less than horrible founder and the horrible subsolar abscess (worse pain to them in my mind)...but just embedded bar pushing into the solar corium) these horses are put down daily with trimming only problems... Yesterday at 12:52pm · Like · 5 Debbie Watkins I look at my fillys feet 2 years ago and compare to now and its amazing the change. Friends of mine cant believe the change and most people would have put her down. Now if she would just grow taller!!! Yesterday at 12:55pm · Like · 5 Cheryl Edwards-Henderson And the other problem is unspecific lameness.....will cause owners to give up and all it was most often trimming error and not seeing what is there. Too much harm came from the LIM group that the bar will find itself and stop growing etc. And then you add in farrier schools failing to teach the importance of trimming bar and balance. Thousands and thousands of horses have lived for years from trimming neglect or ignorance and thousands and thousands have been put down because their owners didnt understand what they had been paying for. Yesterday at 4:30pm · Like · 8 Lorraine Stubbins Yes ......poor secretariat......he likely could have recovered as you say with Cheryls intervention.........well ...I too had a friend who put her gorgeous horse down ....because she had and I quote her deformed hoof tubules diagnosed by vet and farrier. She was furious with me when I said, pull the shoes, get a barefoot trim and turn her out for a year.... .....but ....Nope.....! She Put her down right away instead........that upset me no end......the world is still flat to many........ 20 hrs · Like · 8 Kelly Brook Allen Lorraine Stubbins some days you can just not fix stupid sorry to hear about a nice horse getting put down. 20 hrs · Like · 6 McKeela Sansome I know back when my grandma rode horses if your horse was lame you pulled shoes and trimmed them really short in the heels and trimmed the bars as much as you could and left them to pasture for a year and hoped it got better 18 hrs · Edited · Like · 5 Danielle Black I would love to see some updated footage on Jubilee, Cheryl Edwards-Henderson...is that possible? such an amazing transformation 9 hrs · Like Cheryl Edwards-Henderson Danielle Black I will try to stop in and get some pictures. It has been years as her owner does the hoof care. I see her out in the field with her stable mate and she still runs and looks awesome. 9 hrs · Like · 2 Angela Ruether Ive always thought the same thing! Cheryl Edwards-Henderson could have save this horse! 1 hr · Like
