Chicken Drama! Wiley wondered what would happen if I took Nogs cage outside and opened the door. Last time she looked confused and meandered back into the coop and sat in a nesting box. This time she came out talking up a storm, flapping and doing normal chicken things. Well, Itsy heard her and attacked her! I let them fight for a minute or two (secretly hoping Nog would put them in their place, she IS the alpha after all) - to no avail. Nog gave up and dropped her head - Itsy continued to go after the back of her neck. I stepped in. Made a decision to put Bessie and Itsy back in the coop and see how my two wounded ones did together. Had Bitsy in my arms and opened Nogs cage. Nog set to squaking and Bitsy got nervous. Set Bitsy down at the bottom of the porch, Nog came down and Bitsy went up - passed each other with no interest in each other at all. Bitsy went into Nogs cage and stared eating her food and drinking her water. Seems the lines have been drawn. Will check on Nog in a few minutes, but she seems to be pleased to have room to stretch her wings, some fresh air and an absence of the bully birds so she can enjoy a good dirt bath.
