Chief DR ALAN KYEREMANTENGS INTERVIEW ON BOILING POINT; 18TH SEPTEMBER, 2014. 8:30PM. Alan, Addai Nimo, Appraku, Osei Ameyaw signed the petition for extension of the October congress. This petition was sent long time but up till now, we havent received any response from the party executives. When campaigning, I choose a channel that will enhance delegates confidence in me. I therefore dont see the need to make derogatory remarks about my opponent. So far, that is how I make my campaign. Alan. I assure party members that after the congress, we shall all be United for victory in 2016. We did same in 2016. We dont need to panic at all. Competition is a contest of ideas. Little wranglings are inevitable in internal contest. Lets avoid statements that discredit others. I also appeal to the media not to create platform to deepen NPPs internal wranglings. Lets all help to minimize the minor frictions in our party. Ghanaians do not necessarily vote based on economic hardships. Sometimes they vote based on their perceived hatred for a particular candidate so lets be mindful of all our actions. We need to; 1. Solidify our based at the grassroots level( anchored at the grassroots level). Building a strong United party at the polling station 2. Find enough resources and logistics for our grassroots to work with. 3. A United front in unity. 4. The face of the NPP must be a candidate who can translate from flagbearership position to President. 5. A candidate who when becomes President, can deliver to Ghanaians. In summary; these are the five (5) key issues our party must be focused on. If I become a flagbearer, I will prefer the party from the grassroots to national to become my campaign team. I dont need to select my own people. I have also promised to ensure that party resources get to the grassroots direct; means such as money transfer can be used. I will also ensure that every party executive is paid for his work. This will elicit devotion and commitment for the party. This manifesto will be implemented right after Im elected as flagbearer. Sympathizer and supporters of NPP are almost 6000000 million people. When I become flagbearer, I will make sure all these people are registered to pay dues of Ghc 1 a month. This can generate about 6,000,000 Ghana cedis for the party per month, 72 billion per year. The contribution constitutes that persons share in the party. All supporters will be made key stakeholders in the party. I have an international network on my own which I can utilize to bring resources to add up to the investment funds in the party. This will ensure that all businessmen who contribute to the party get value for their money. Their investment entitles them to shareholding in the party. The leader of the party must therefore has brilliant ideas for the future of the party. The delegates must choose the candidate based on his records, and what he can do for this country. I have been a founding member since 1992. I was also national executive member. I was chairman of young executive forum. Late Baah Wiredu was my Secretary. Kan Dapaa, Late Quashiga, etc were members of young forum. Dr Donkor Fordjour books on Dankwa-Busia party. Referring to Page 203. Of the book; the young executive forum was a pressure group for the party. They were professional groups who mobilised new generation for the party. As chairman of the young executive forum, Alan Kyeremanteng epitomizes the vibrarant leader of the party from 1992 to 2000 which helped brought the party to power in 2000. We must choose a formula that can send us to power. A man of the moment but not a man of tradition. Daily graphic: October 8, 1998 page 11; Sunyani congress quoting Nana Akufo-Addo: the NPP must elect a leader who has appeal to non-party people outside the party else power could elude us. Referring to Dr Appraku; we need someone who can solidify our base to attract non party members to win power. Ohene Ntow helping Dr with definition of a floating voter Many of the grassroots say if Alan becomes the flagbearer, many will vote for him. At least we have presented one candidate for three elections and still lost so we need a new face. The decision you make in choosing your flagbearer should be based on Ghanaians expectation of whom should be their President. Listen to the voice of the people on the ground before voting someone as your flagbearer. If we want someone who can be a president but not just a flagbearer, then choose someone who can win 2016 elections. In 2007, for the sake of party unity, I held Nana Akufo-Addos hand and gave him the chance to lead NPP. I was sponsored to become a flagbearer of NPP but they later advised me to step down for the elders to contest. So if we are looking at someone with track record for party unity, then Alan stands tall. Ghanaians also lead someone who can transform Ghana. With this, I have the track record both both locally and globally. In 1994, I was among the first 100 world business leaders, Alan was part with the likes of Bill Gates. In summary: God has given us two main keys to unlock our treasure (Political power). The first key has been tried several times but failed. Try the second key Alan and I shall bring political power to NPP.On the issue of the special delegates congress, if not for propaganda sake, how could one make decision but considering 780+ delegates to over 140,000 delegates.
