Chief Minister to inaugurate new attractions at Alipore Zoo. October 20, 2014 West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate several new attractions at the Alipore Zoo, Kolkata today. The new attractions include an open-air reptile house, an enclosure for lesser cats like fishing cats, wild cats etc. The Swarnamoyee House, which used to display birds of different varieties, has also been renovated and will be thrown open today. Large birds will be shifted here. The age-old Mullick House inside the zoo complex has been renovated and will now serve as an Information Centre. Apart from zoological facts, information regarding the fascinating history of the Alipore Zoo will also be available here. Last year, WB CM had inaugurated a state-of-the-art glass enclosure for tigers at the zoo.
