Childhood memories destroyed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TopicsExpress

Childhood memories destroyed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opened this weekend in the US, with a later date set for Europe and the UK. So far, the #RottenTomatoes reviews are looking bodaciously bad, and not so Cowabunga. Accompanying the 20% rating in the Tomatometer, the critical description doesnt excite us bit. Neither entertaining enough to recommend nor remarkably awful, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may bear the distinction of being the dullest movie ever made about talking bipedal reptiles. Fan reviews sound like this, Turtles fans might have been looking for their own Avengers. They get Alvin and the Chipmunks on performance enhancers and mass-market pizza instead. In Hollywood, history repeats first as farce, then as marketing and this... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesnt so much provide brainless enjoyment as it pummels the viewer into submission. Shell-shocked is a reasonable description of the experience. We didnt really have much hope to hold onto, knowing that Michael Bay was involved, as was Megan Fox, but when the first teaser trailer popped out of its shell, it impressed us enough to get back on the tiny hype train, but whether were willing to hand over the price of a modern day movie ticket, were really not sure. If we were on the fence, well probably sneak back into the sewers again, which is more than likely, as opposed to somersaulting over it with excitement. Have any of our American/Canadian friends had a chance to see it themselves, and wanna fill us in, or will our community still be checking the movie out when it hits your local theaters?
