Chinese Newcomers Service Center proudly recognizes Joseph Kwok as the 2014 Outstanding Community Leadership Honoree. Joseph Kwok shares how he inspired the creation of the Emperor & Empress Charity Gala over 22 years ago when he was the Chair of the CNSC Board. The Emperor & Empress Charity Gala has been successful in raising funds to serve the needy immigrant community. Joseph is now serving as Principle Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of East West Bank. Previously he had held a variety of senior banking management positions with several financial institutions over the years. Mr. Kwok, who is an avid golfer, has organized many charity golf tournaments for non-profit organizations. Mr. Kwok received many awards for his extraordinary achievements including, 1991 Courvoisier Outstanding Banker Award, City and County of San Francisco Proclaimed June 10, 2001 as Joseph W. Kwok Day for his years of dedicated service and countless contributions to the City. He was CNSCs 2002 Honorary Charity Emperor, 2006 Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and Chinese Consolidated Womens Association Outstanding Accomplishments and Service Award. Mr. Kwok has served as the President, Board Member, and Advisory Board for United Way of the Bay Area, Chinese Newcomers Service Center, San Francisco Chinatown Lions Club and the Vision Care Service Foundation, Hong Kong Association of Northern California, San Francisco General Hospital, Project Hope, San Francisco Chinese Hospital, San Francisco Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Culture Foundation, Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco State University Business School, Asian Women Resources Center, Chinese Charity Center and the 1999 Institute Board.
