Chinese investors like Dongdu International Group of Shanghai - TopicsExpress

Chinese investors like Dongdu International Group of Shanghai (DDI) have been pouring millions of dollars into the more iconic structures of the city, even before Snyder decided to begin his relational travels to China. In fact, they spent $13.6 million on familiar Detroit structures—Detroit Free Press building and a Kmart Complex. DDI is aware of the city’s challenges and wants to bring some of the most popular structures in the city back to life. Governor Rick Snyder and Chinese investors alike are filled with hope and bright thoughts for Detroit’s future. Both have been quoted as saying “Detroit will be back.” President Barack Obama has also taken steps to help with this plan of investment by instituting 10-year Visas for the Chinese who are thinking of moving to the “new Detroit.”
