Chris has asked: I am trying soft parenting. I know every child is different , but recent actions from my 3yo have worried me. As a baby she didnt want to co sleep at all and always wanted her own room. But the last few months she has been trying to co sleep (and although she still has ALOT of spirited and independant behaviours she has also recently become ALOT more soft as well). Anyway she has been co sleeping with me for a while now and I worry as I know this is the age most children start weaning themselves. Do I need to approach this or will she do it herself. She cries and cries if I put her back and she wont even sleep on a mattress in our room. Its actually like she needs to feel me sleeping next to her. I would love to know if this is ok or if I need to do something. She is 4 this year. RPB ~April
