Chris was leaking brain fluid after the surgery so he had to have a lumbar puncture today to put in a drain in his spine to relieve the pressure & remove fluid. (He already has two of these drains from the skin graft.). They performed this procedure in his room because they did not have enough beds on the floor that they usually do this procedure on. He was given morphine & anxiety medication before the procedure but he was in a lot of pain. The doctor was having trouble finding the right location. Another more experienced doctor had to finish this procedure. He did not eat lunch today. He is having trouble eating because his tongue has been swollen since the surgery because of the breathing tube. I ordered his dinner before I left tonight and Im hoping he eats something. He should sleep very well tonight because of all the pain medication. Please pray for Chris for courage and strength to endure his hospitalization. After having the drain tube inserted, he must stay another five days. Thanks for your prayers! They are most definitely appreciated!
