Christ Life Online Seminary. What We Do: Christ Life Online Seminary was developed to provide local churches in Liberia the ability to host independent training center to train up and equip believers to become effective disciples. Through this 1yr comprehensive program, Christ Life Seminary provides accessible, affordable, and practical theological education to the average believer. Through identifying and recruiting qualified instructors approved by your church, Christ Life Seminary will help develop those individual to become an effective asset to the church leadership. Christ Lifes purpose is to empower believers to fulfill God’s call in their lives. We want them to be able to assist their church leadership by becoming the outreach arm of their churches “ministry vision”. The Christ Life Seminary program only requires the use of online classes as well as the endorsement of the Pastor and staff to promote the opportunity for true leadership training in Liberia. We take care of all the rest. Why We Do It We believe the primary mandate of the local church is to make Effective Disciples. Effective Disciples are best seen through the passage where Paul writes Timothy. Timothy 2:2 (KJV) And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Christ Life Online Seminary believes that “every Christian deserves the opportunity to get the training needed to be an effective disciple, equipped to fulfill the calling God has for them. Because God has given the church gifted individuals such as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers the assignment (“To perfect the saints for the work of the ministry”) Eph 4:11-12. Christ Life Online Seminary desires to partner with these individuals to provide this needed training to equip the saints. Christ Life Seminary will: Pay instructors to teach the Christ Life Seminary curriculum Do all the billing and collection Provide all course materials Provide caps and gowns for graduation Provide advertising materials Provide promotional video Communicate directly with the campus instructor Provide all support and management for students and instructors Maintain student transcripts for future advancement to ongoing education The Difference: A one year, ten course certificate program with an emphasis in church planting and reproductive ministry, at no traditional seminary cost. Emphasis: Practical application, not just academics. Location: Online for now Teachers: Ministers with practical life experience, not just professors with academic experience. Timing: One year in discipleship training, not four years in seminary. Cost: Free for Liberian Students,. but registration required for commitment. Program Outline: The Christ Life Seminary program is made up of ten course modules designed to be completed in five week increments. Course textbooks and materials are given the first night of class. Additionally, each course module may contain video and/or audio presentations made available via a thumb drive or online as well as additional readings. Combined together, students are immersed into an accelerated training program designed with the latest tools. Scroll down to see a course description for each module. 10 Course Curriculum Course 1: Hermeneutics Description: Learning the principles of Biblical Interpretation is essential for anyone who desires to teach God’s word. In this class students will learn the historical – grammatical principles of interpretation. Furthermore, each student will practice applying these principles as they learn to exegete the scripture. Course 2: Homiletics Description: This is the class that will prepare every student to be able to structure a proper teaching outline. Students will be instructed on the elements that make up a solid introduction, body and conclusion. Also, this class focuses on public speech and will help equip everyone to stand before an audience with confidence and proper focus. Course 3: Church Planting, Spiritual Reproduction Description: This is the capstone course for the Seminary Advantage Program. Building upon the major emphasis of the program, student will survey the book of Acts as “The Manual” for starting new mission at works. The course will culminate with the expectation of identifying and implementing a new mission in the context of the student. course 4: Clinical practicum discipleship Description: During this course students will be spending their class time in the field developing relationships for the purpose of discipleship. Each student will engage at least one other individual for the purpose of mentoring, teaching and guiding them into a deeper relationship with God. Course 5: Old Testament Chronology Description: Students in this class will take the time to see the Old Testament from a chronological perspective. This study will help the student to view the scripture based upon stages. We start with the creation stage and conclude with the return stage. This is an insightful way to view the work of God. Course 6: New Testament Gospels Description: This course is designed to expose students to the different perspectives in the Gospels. We will see how Matthew speaks from a Jewish perspective declaring Jesus as King of the Jews. Mark was written to Romans and focuses on Jesus as a suffering servant. Luke was written to the Greeks and show Jesus as the Son of Man. Finally, John was written to all people to show Jesus as the Son of God. Course 7: Pastoral Epistles Description: How is the Church to function? In this class we will work through I Timothy, II Timothy and Titus. We will give special attention to that which God teaches His Pastors. Students will learn the qualifications of a leader, as well as Pastoral responsibilities. The Lord has not left His church to do whatever they want. We must remember that we are His church and we are called to do His will. Course 8: New Testament General Letters Description: The general letters were written for the benefit of the Church both then and now. Some of the books you will be studying such as Romans, Ephesians, and Corinthians contain Pauls words of encouragement, rebuke, instruction and doctrine that still govern the Church today. Each letter will be given an overview and some will be looked at in greater depth. Course 9: Major Bible Doctrines Description: In our time together we will discuss the major doctrines of the Christian Faith. We will be looking at doctrines of God, Scripture, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, we will take the time to survey the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed as the bedrock for sound Christian Doctrine. Course 10: Apologetics, Church History, Spiritual Warfare Description: This course will be broken down into 3 sections. The apologetics portion teaches how to defend the Christian faith. Church history will focus on the development of the church movement from inception to current day. The spiritual warfare portion of the course will look at the reality of angelic and demonic forces that are actively impacting Christians and influencing our world here and now.
