Christ is the Word of God, never a separate being though being with God. We have words as well, though our word has never been so powerful. John says that without Him was nothing made that was made. Clearly because God spoke Word to create the world. The same Word He gave to his believers in the Old Testament and the prophets. Then, all those scriptures and promises of old were fulfilled and are fulfilled in Christ, Him being the same Word spoken of before, the Perfect Word of God. He says that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God. Then He says that we should eat of His flesh and drink of His blood. HE is the Word that proceedeth from the mouth of God. And this Word will not return to Him void. Christ said, If I shall be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. That is the wonder of the chapter in Acts when Stephen sees Jesus at the right hand of God. It means VICTORY. Jesus WAS lifted back up to the Father. Gods Word returned to Him, so it was not in vain. He was lifted up, so we can now been drawn unto Him, to be at the right hand of God. We are said in Romans to be joint heirs with Christ. And in the Gospels, Jesus calls Himself The Way. Through His Word, God has led us unto Himself. He has been calling us for so long.
