Christie, ever the calculating political animal, knew full well he could take some flak from his own party over his decision to defy all conservative logic with a $25 million taxpayer purchase. Whats a little knee-jerk criticism from right-wing pundits, next to causing them to collectively combust if Christie allowed the Senate election to occur on the same say as his own. Further, potentially allowing a supremely popular Democrat, with national aspirations, to appear atop the same ballot as his long-shot Democratic challenger. Clearly knowing he could suppress the vote and force ardent supporters of Booker to stay home on Election Day in November, Christie ingenuously created this Special Election separate from his own. And it played out with the same mathematical precision as a Walter White stratagem. Christie got to largely stay out of an oddly bruising special senate race, keep Cory Booker away from hurting his own chances at a crushing reelection victory and thus definitive assurance to national republicans that hes their guy in 2016...click for rest and share!
